A Custom 5 Point Behavior Scale

This pre populated scale could help your concrete learners and rigid thinkers expand their idea about social situations. It is a work in progress on purpose.

Customization is key! The whole point of these curricula and supporting material is to tailor it to your learner or population.

The first page lists curricula, tips, and "food for thought" when using and customizing this or any scale. Those curricula have their own worksheet templates, also.

What I emphasize to you and to students is the idea behind behavior and reactions requires "flexible or Big thinking" to accept that different people might think, feel, or act different ways in any given situation. And that is OK, it happens!

While a person might generally "know" some of this....do they recognize or "tune into it" when it's happening? Most of my students are surprised, upset, confused, and offended when they learn they were at level 3 or higher or that someone reacts negatively to something they did.

  1. What words MIGHT people use to describe or talk about a situation? and

  2. How MIGHT those behaviors look?

  3. Are there times when certain level 4 or 5 behaviors are appropriate to a situation? Yes. (If you thought "no" then....This scale is for you, too!)

Explore these concepts and give students some concrete context to help them think "bigger" in a variety of social situations throughout the day.
